Endeavors Technology's founders and technical advisory board have an unrivaled history in developing Internet-based infrastructures. The company's flagship product, AppExpress, enables the rapid enterprise deployment of software to desktops while providing strong license management control features. AppExpress has also proven successful as a trialware solution by allowing ISVs to run full-product try-before-buy campaigns that have the added advantage of application usage monitoring and anti-piracy controls.
Independent Testing by VeriTest® and new Gold Certified Partner status from Microsoft places AppExpress above the competition in assurances for enterprises and ISVs of a reliable, swift mechanism to stream applications to the desktop on-demand
Irvine (CA) and Cambridge (UK), November 3, 2003 - Endeavors Technology, a leader in on-demand application streaming and desktop application management, today announces that its flagship product, AppExpress, has been certified for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard, Enterprise, and Datacenter Editions. This milestone results in Endeavors Technology obtaining Gold Certified Partner status with Microsoft. Both designations are a first among on-demand application delivery companies.
Tadpole's Streaming Applications Subsidiary Signs World-Wide Master Reseller Agreement with EDS
Tadpole Technology plc, January 5, 2004: Tadpole Technology plc announces today that EDS has signed a world-wide master reseller agreement with one of Tadpole's subsidiaries, Endeavors Technology, Inc. The agreement covers Endeavors' streaming applications product line, AppExpress.
Founded in 1962 as Electronic Data Systems Corporation, EDS is the world's largest outsourcing services company and has a heritage of delivery excellence, industry knowledge, a world class technical infrastructure and the expertise of its people. It supports the world's leading companies and governments in 60 countries and had 2002 revenues of $21.5 billion.
EDS has undertaken thorough technical evaluation of Endeavors' AppExpress product in the past months. It has now added the product line to its recommended list of enterprise software for its world-wide customer base.
"Using AppExpress as a means of delivering full-product software for trial usage has given Autodesk ROI numbers unseen before in previous marketing programs," said Bob Ng, Director of Business Planning and Analysis at Autodesk. "It's only logical that we extend our relationship with Endeavors by leveraging the use of AppExpress across other Autodesk products with all the assurance and confidence of security, reliability and cost-effectiveness."
"AppExpress lowers the total cost of ownership (TCO) of enterprise software. It offers businesses a world-class proven solution that changes, in an affordable manner, the dynamics of desktop application delivery, installation, usage and management," said Keith Bigsby, CEO of Endeavors. "Our strengthened relationship with Autodesk proves that."
Of 7,000 streamed downloads under Endeavors' software delivery technology, 48% of users were influenced by the trial site to purchase AutoCAD, 33% decided to purchase sooner than originally planned, and 7% decided to purchase more product than anticipated. This translated into a $228,500 sales increase for Autodesk over previous trialware releases using traditional methods, and substantial additional savings to the company by eliminating the need to burn and ship evaluation CD-ROMs to potential customers. Endeavors' patented anti-piracy streaming technique also raised Autodesk's confidence level that unauthorized duplication of AutoCAD during the trial period would be virtually impossible.
"No one has seen this kind of performance in CAD trial software," said Robert Ng, director of business planning and analysis at Autodesk. "Streaming AutoCAD using the Microsoft-supported Magi Application Express solution allows users to be up and running in just five to 10 minutes. We're not only saving money doing something better, faster, cheaper, we're accelerating and increasing sales. What's not to like about that?"
Magi Application Express streams any Microsoft Windows(R) application or large data set on demand over the Internet. It works within the application installation and launching processes recognized by Windows that, when loaded, appears to the PC as if a full product resides on the machine. In fact, the full application never completely resides on a user's device at any time. This technology translates into performance efficiency, and most importantly, no chance of software piracy.
Irvine (CA) and Cambridge (UK), January 14, 2003 - In a move to accelerate enterprise business advantage from the deployment of automated Web-based services, Tadpole Technology plc today announces that its Endeavors Technology software subsidiary has become a Microsoft Independent Software Vendor ( ISV). Under terms of the relationship, Endeavors, with the active support of Microsoft's premier services program, will bring its Web-based on-demand applications delivery and distribution solution, Magi Application Express, to the .NET platform.
Magi Application Express enables enterprises to stream on-demand any Microsoft application, including such rich applications as mapping and design, from central servers to enterprise desktops and laptops in a matter of seconds. It enables IT managers to maintain currency in applications used at the client level, eliminates the need to regularly deploy security software patches and updates across network devices, and helps them to tightly manage licensing agreements with Microsoft and other software vendors.
The adoption of .NET's XML tools and interfaces in Magi Application Express further enhances the business value of Endeavors' product and enables Microsoft-centric enterprises to connect and interoperate their Web-based capability and services across platforms, programming languages, and applications.
As a Microsoft .NET ISV partner utilizing premier services, Microsoft will assist Endeavors Technology in addressing software design and development issues involving Web-enablement of applications so they can be distributed to the desktop for use both on and off line. The focus of the effort will be around three main areas: a) managing, tracking usage in real time and deploying applications anywhere to any Web connected point, b) securely authenticating and identifying users and devices, and c) replacing disparate, complex and costly unconnected services with a single web services environment. Endeavors will have access to Microsoft's laboratory facilities for prototyping, testing, and migration initiatives.
Endeavors Technology's On-Demand Application Delivery and Management Solutions
AppExpress (there is a video on this page) is a software distribution and streaming technology that enables the rapid, cost-effective and easy deployment and management of applications to a large pool of users. It enables organizations to quickly deliver Windows®-based applications via the Internet or the corporate network without modifications to the application code, without loss of functionality, and without compromising the performance of those applications. AppExpress significantly reduces the cost of IT software distribution and user support while ensuring compliance with complex licensing agreements.
AppExpress is comprised of three solutions:
AppExpress Enterprise
The result is an Internet-enabled application set that is functionally identical to a software vendor's desktop-based application. Users experience the exact look and feel of the packaged applications as if installed locally. For more information, click here.
AppExpress Trainingware
The result is enhanced training delivery while maximizing the use of training facilities by rapidly resetting and preparing classroom systems and students' PCs. Allows a higher level of interactivity to training sessions by complementing existing e-learning tools and other training solutions. For more information, click here.
AppExpress Trialware
Applications reside on existing or hosted server resources, optimized to serve and manage thousands of users per server. Full support for front and back-end billing, metering, provisioning, system management API's, load balancing, and fail over is provided to ensure maximum up-time. For more information, click here.
Smart Client Software and .NET
Web services allow the applications to share information via the Internet, regardless of the operating system or back-end software that the application is using. Web services are the magic behind smart client software. Web services enable desktop applications such as Microsoft® Word and Microsoft Excel to more easily exchange information with server-based applications including customer relationship management ( CRM) systems. Web services can minimize the time-consuming and error-prone process of cutting and pasting data between applications.
Smart Client Applications can be Deployed and Updated From a Centralized Server
Like a browser-based application, smart client software can be deployed from a centralized Web server. (Smart clients can also be deployed by CD, DVD, floppy disk, or using an application deployment infrastructure such as Microsoft Systems Management Server.)
Once deployed, smart client software applications can automatically update themselves to the latest version of software that resides on the centralized server. This simplified deployment helps to ensure that users have the latest version of the application as well as help IT departments reduce deployment costs.
Supports Working Offline
With smart client technology, users can work with data even when they are not connected to the Internet or the network that hosts the Web service. Because all or part of the application logic sits on the local computer, smart clients can deliver useful functionality even while offline. This capability sets smart clients apart from browser-based applications, and for many mobile sales forces or remote offices, this is a key requirement.
Applications can be Tailored to Multiple Devices
Smart client applications can be tailored to run on a range of devices, including personal digital assistants (PDAs) and mobile phones. This is made possible through the Microsoft .NET Framework, the foundation for the next generation of Microsoft Windows® applications. This new technology enables software designed for larger systems to run on smaller devices.
